NENA Telecommunicator Scholarship


The Oklahoma Chapter of the National Emergency Number Association (OklaNENA) Telecommunicator Scholarships are available to any telecommunicator, call taker or dispatcher with at least three (3) years of experience in Emergency Communications. Industry partners or other vendor personnel are not eligible for this award, nor are previous recipients. The applicant must also be a NENA member in good standing.

To be eligible for the scholarship, you must complete and submit the scholarship application and provide a current resume.

The NENA member course fee will be paid by OklaNENA. Any additional costs associated with materials or retaking the course will be paid by the applicant.

OklaNENA’ s Telecommunicator Scholarship program was established in the fall of 2024 to promote professionalism, ensure awareness of current issues and developments in the 9-1-1 profession and to encourage personal growth.

Emergency Number Professional Certification Scholarship




What is ENP Certification?

Certification is a tool of a professional association to establish the benchmarks of performance that will signify a broad-based competence in the professional field.


By successfully completing your certification, you will:

  • Demonstrate a mastery of the comprehensive knowledge base required for emergency number program management.
  • Help to raise industry standards and increase the respect and prestige of those involved in 9-1-1.
  • Confirm your commitment to the 9-1-1 profession by showing yourself to be a leader in public safety and pledging yourself to stay aware of current issues and developments in the field.

Awardees are chosen by the Oklahoma Chapters of APCO and NENA, formally recognized in the Authority Board meeting, and presented with a certificate and award.
